We are offering TeleVisits to all our patients.
Horizon Internal Medicine is keeping on top of all of the current guidance from the CDC as well as the North Carolina Department of Health regarding the COVID-19 virus (Coronavirus). The safety and health of our patients and staff is our highest concern. At this time, these are the things we want to make sure all of our patients know.
If you are sick with a fever and cough please call the office. Do not come in for a walk-in appointment. We will triage you over the phone or at your car and let you know what to do. We have setup a telemedicine program so that we will be able to conduct some appointments over a phone call or video chat.
Any patient who has a known exposure to COVID-19 or patients who have traveled to any area with widespread COVID-19 but do not have current symptoms should be monitoring their temperature twice a day. Please stay home and try and avoid contact with many people. You should continue to watch for symptoms for 14 days. If you do develop fever, cough or shortness of breath please call the office.
If you have mild symptoms we are asking that you stay home and treat your symptoms with over the counter medications.
If you are over 60 or have chronic medical conditions you should avoid being around large groups of people to lower your risk of contracting COVID-19.
Everyone should wash their hands frequently, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer and try to avoid touching your face.
As always, we are here to answer any questions you may have. The recommendations are changing on a daily basis so expect more information coming soon.
Thank you for trusting us with your healthcare.
Sincerely,
The Horizon Internal Medicine Team
